1. What are Peak and Off-Peak pricing?
Typically, a spa's busiest days are the weekends, holidays, and weekdays after 5pm. We have designated these "peak" hours, and have priced our services accordingly. We have designated 10am to 5pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays as "off-peak" hours, and certain services that start AND finish between these two times are given special "off-peak" pricing, which are quite a bit more affordable. Not every service category is eligible for Off-Peak pricing, however. Services that ARE eligible will be noted as such.
2. What if my appointment on an off-peak day starts at 4:30pm?
Your appointment MUST end by 5pm in order to qualify for the off-peak discount. For a one-hour appointment, that means the latest scheduled start time is 4pm, so services that start at 4:30pm and end at 5:30pm do NOT qualify for the off-peak discount.
3. How early should I show up for an appointment?
Please plan to arrive fifteen minutes early to check in, fill out
any forms required, and get changed into a spa robe and slippers (if required).
4. What happens if I have to cancel or reschedule my appointment
at the last-minute?
Unfortunately, these things do happen - it's called life and it is not always within our control. The situation becomes a lose-lose for everyone: you lose the opportunity to relax and set aside time for yourself, and without the proper notice (24 hours on weekdays and 48 hours on weekends), the spa loses revenue and the opportunity to replace your revenue with another appointment.
Therefore, in the event of a cancellation that violates our policy or a no-show, we will charge
25% of the value of the services that would have been rendered. So, if you missed a 90-minute Deep Tissue appointment on a Saturday, you pay $36.25. If you missed an eyebrow wax appointment, then you pay $4.50. We think this is extremely fair, especially when compared to the onerous fees charged by other spas.
But we're reasonable - we understand that things "come up." We will always excuse the first time you don't show up or cancel within the 24- or 48-hour window, but to provide a continuous flow of income for our high-quality therapists, we will begin charging the cancellation/no-show fees from the second violation and on. We thank you for your understanding.
5. What happens if I simply do not show up for my appointment and do
not call or notify you beforehand?
First of all, be prepared for a frantic
telephone call from one of us at the spa, as we may be concerned
for your well-being. Secondly, if you do not give us the courtesy
of telephoning to cancel your visit at all, then you will be charged 100% of the value of the appointment. However, if you re-book the appointment (for a date within 3 months of your original one) and DO show up for that service, we will allow you to use 100% of your cancellation fee towards the cost of your subsequent appointment.
6. Can I buy spa gift certificates?
Normally, yes. However, we are undergoing an exciting and comprehensive redesign of our service offerings, and until we have more clarity on what those service offerings will look like, we have decided to temporarily suspend the sale of gift certificates.
7. Do you welcome men as clients?
But of course! Don't men undergo stress? Don't they lead complicated
lives? We have a very steady male clientele and they can tell you
from personal experience that spa-going helps them maintain their sanity
and peace of mind.
8. Why do I have to give my credit card number when making a reservation?
We do require a credit card in order to guarantee your reservation
time and length. This is to protect us against no-shows or late cancellations
(please see questions 4 and 5 above), which hurt our business and our world-class
therapists, who need to be guaranteed a steady flow of work. However, we
will not charge your credit card until the service is performed, or unless
our cancellation/no-show policy is violated. Please see questions #4 and #5 above for more details on our cancellation fees.
9. How often should I get facials?
Facials are a crucial part of your skin care regimen. We recommend
that you get a facial once every 4-6 weeks for optimum results.
10. What kind of facial should I get?
That depends upon your skin type, your skin concerns, and even how your
skin is feeling at that moment. Our skin? needs change with our age,
with our lifestyles, and even with the seasons.
11. What should I wear to the spa?
Whatever you happen to be wearing when you come into the spa. We
will provide the proper spa attire for your treatment.
